The Jetpack app continues to evolve with each passing day. We’re thrilled to announce some key updates that further refine the mobile user experience, making your WordPress.com content creation and management process even more efficient and enjoyable.
Look for these improvements when your app updates to version 23.7.
Enhancements to Posts and Pages
Revamped posts and pages interface
The Posts and Pages interface has been revamped with a sleek new design. We’ve combined the “default” and “compact” display options into a more streamlined user interface, making your content navigation experience more intuitive and efficient.
Innovative context menu
The options to navigate to “Stats,” “Comments,” and “Settings” have been shifted to the context menu for a cleaner look and improved organization. This updated design simplifies the interface, making content access and management even easier for users.
Introduction of swipe actions on iOS
The new update introduces swipe gestures for iOS users. Swipe left to view a post or page, and swipe right to share or delete. This user-friendly feature adds a layer of convenience to your workflow, enabling actions with a simple swipe.
Refined search and filter system on iOS
This update enhances iOS search and filtering features. Users can now fully search text and filter content by “author” or “tag,” making it easier to find specific content within your collection.
Redesigned dashboard and customization options
The dashboard interface has been reworked to offer a personalized user experience. You can now customize your dashboard shortcuts and cards according to your needs and preferences, allowing easy access to the features you use most frequently.
Refreshed “Me” tab
We’ve relocated the “Me” section to the bottom tab for easier navigation. This allows you to access your profile, account settings, and app settings from any location within the app, ensuring a more streamlined workflow.
Performance enhancements for site media on iOS
We’ve reimagined the management and selection screen for your site’s media on iOS, focusing on performance advancements. Previews load much quicker and consume less memory, guaranteeing a seamless scrolling experience.
Additionally, we have introduced three new gestures for handling your media:
- Long press on an image for a quick preview and swift access to common actions
- Select multiple items swiftly by dragging your finger over the images
- Swipe from left to right while viewing media details to switch between items
These improvements, along with many others, amount to a considerably enhanced overall experience. We will continue to build on this in future releases to provide the best experience possible.
